Real software for PowerPC in 2026

BudgetX Vintage is not an abandoned port — it is the same BudgetX that runs on iPhone and Android, actively developed and built natively for the PowerPC (PPC) architecture. Track spending, set monthly budgets, manage recurring bills, import bank CSV files, and sync your data with the iOS, Android, and web apps through the same account.

Faux: AI on a PowerPC

BudgetX Vintage includes Faux, a budgeting assistant that answers questions about your money — "how much did I spend on groceries?", "can I afford a $400 car payment?" — entirely on your Mac. On a Power Mac G5 or G4 you can also download Faux Advanced, a quantized large language model that runs natively on the PowerPC processor with hand-written AltiVec kernels. Your financial data never leaves your machine.

Why we build for PowerPC

Millions of Power Mac, PowerBook and iBook machines still work beautifully. We think software for them should too. BudgetX Vintage shares its budgeting brain — the exact same code — with our iOS and Android apps, so a 2003 PowerBook G4 computes the same answers a 2026 iPhone does.
