BudgetX Vintage is not an abandoned port — it is the same BudgetX that runs on iPhone and Android, actively developed and built natively for the PowerPC (PPC) architecture. Track spending, set monthly budgets, manage recurring bills, import bank CSV files, and sync your data with the iOS, Android, and web apps through the same account.

Faux: AI on a PowerPC

BudgetX Vintage includes Faux, a budgeting assistant that answers questions about your money — "how much did I spend on groceries?", "can I afford a $400 car payment?" — entirely on your Mac. On a Power Mac G5 or G4 you can also download Faux Advanced, a quantized large language model that runs natively on the PowerPC processor with hand-written AltiVec kernels. Your financial data never leaves your machine.

System requirements

Any PowerPC Mac running Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger or 10.5 Leopard — Power Mac G4 and G5, PowerBook G4, iBook, iMac G4/G5, eMac, Mac mini G4
Faux Advanced (optional AI download, ~350 MB): a G4 or G5 with AltiVec and at least 1 GB of memory; a G5 is recommended
Cloud sync is optional — BudgetX works fully offline
